There are concerts, and then there is whatever GWAR does to a room. On **Wednesday, November 4**, the self-proclaimed intergalactic warlords of shock rock bring the **Gor Gor Must Die! Tour** to **Revolution Live** in downtown Fort Lauderdale — and South Florida's most gloriously messy midweek night comes with a stacked four-band bill: **GWAR**, black 'n' roll powerhouse **Midnight**, fast-food parody metal outfit **Mac Sabbath**, and masked openers **X-Cops**, who join this date specifically.
## What it is
GWAR have spent decades turning heavy metal into full-contact theater: giant costumes, elaborate props, satire aimed at everyone, and a stage show famous for soaking the front of the crowd. This fall's Gor Gor Must Die! Tour kicked off October 27 in Charlottesville, Virginia, and runs through December 12 in Norfolk, Virginia. Front-thing Blöthar the Berserker has framed the tour as tough love for Gor Gor, the band's giant dinosaur — expect that storyline, and everything that comes with it, to play out on stage in Fort Lauderdale.
The support bill is not filler. Midnight are direct support on the whole tour, bringing blackened speed and filthy rock 'n' roll momentum. Mac Sabbath — the McDonald's-themed Black Sabbath tribute band — open every night of the run, turning fast-food mascots into metal theater. Fort Lauderdale is one of the select dates that also gets X-Cops, so the night starts early and stays weird.
Local bonus: GWAR are also on the bill for the Headbangers Boat sailing out of PortMiami over Halloween weekend, so South Florida metal fans can catch the band on the water first and then get the full headline show downtown four days later.
## Why it's worth going
- **Four bands, one ticket.** GWAR, Midnight, Mac Sabbath and X-Cops from a 6 p.m. start — most midweek bills give you two acts and a playlist.
- **It's indoors and downtown.** After a storm-soaked Halloween stretch, this is a roof-over-your-head night out at Revolution Live, 100 SW 3rd Ave, in the middle of Fort Lauderdale's entertainment district.
- **Nobody else does this.** Costume metal, comedy, satire and a dinosaur feud in one show — it is the week's most theatrical ticket by a mile.

## Insider tips
1. **Wear something you are prepared to retire.** A GWAR show is a blood-soaked theatrical spectacle — the front rows get sprayed. A cheap poncho or a white tee you plan to keep as a souvenir is the correct uniform.
2. **Do not skip the openers.** Mac Sabbath's set is a show in itself, and X-Cops are only on select dates — Fort Lauderdale is one of them. A 6 p.m. start means the good stuff begins early.
3. **Make a downtown night of it.** Revolution Live sits in Fort Lauderdale's core entertainment blocks, so plan dinner before or drinks after within walking distance instead of driving straight home.
4. **Buy ahead.** A four-band bill with this much cult following is not a door-decision show — lock tickets in before Wednesday.
5. **Expect to get loud and ridiculous.** GWAR's live reputation is earned: costumes, carnage and crowd participation are the point, not a side effect.
