500 Drones Over the Ocean: Pompano Beach's Free Drone Show Extravaganza Is Saturday Night

Forget fireworks. This Saturday night, the sky over Pompano Beach does something better — and quieter, and stranger, and completely free. On **Saturday, November 7, 2026**, the City of Pompano Beach stages its **Drone Show Extravaganza**: **500 illuminated drones** from **Firefly Drone Shows** rising over the ocean just south of the Fisher Family Pier, choreographed by world-class artists and engineers in honor of **Veterans Day Weekend**. The formations are patriotic and nautical — the kind of show you can see for miles up and down the beach — and it all happens in a tight, perfect 15-minute window you will be talking about on the drive home. This is not a "show up at 7 and leave at 7:15" event, either. The city has built a full evening around it on the sand. ## The night, hour by hour The official timeline, straight from the City of Pompano Beach: - **5:30–6:00 PM** — A DJ opens the night spinning on the beach - **6:00–7:00 PM** — Live music from **Junior's Entertainment Group**, global recording artists playing Top 40 and retro hits in English and Spanish with tropical rhythms underneath — very Miami, very dance-on-the-sand - **7:00–7:15 PM** — **THE DRONE SHOW**: 500 drones over the ocean, just south of the pier - **7:15–8:15 PM** — Junior's Entertainment Group returns for a second set - **8:15–9:00 PM** — The DJ closes out the night **Admission is free** and open to the public. No ticket, no wristband, no RSVP — just show up, claim your patch of sand, and look up. ## Where to stand (this part matters) Watch from the **beach on the south side of Fisher Family Pier** (222 N Pompano Beach Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33062). Two closures shape your plan: - The **Fisher Family Pier itself is closed for the event** — it closes at 10:00 PM on Friday, November 6 and does not reopen until 7:00 AM on Sunday, November 8. You watch from the sand, not the pier. - The **north side of the pier is closed for drone staging**, so do not set up there — head south. Blankets, lawn chairs and coolers are welcome, so treat it like a proper beach night: bring the setup, settle in before the band starts, and let the 7 PM liftoff come to you. Boats are welcome too, as long as they stay outside the swim exclusion line buoys and the drone safety zone. Personal fireworks, glass containers, personal drones, alcohol and pets are **not permitted** — leave your own drone at home; Firefly has the sky fully booked. ## Insider tips **1. Ride the free shuttle and skip the parking fight entirely.** Free shuttles run from **Pompano Community Park** (pickup near the Pompano Beach Aquatic Center, 820 NE 18th Avenue) starting at **1:00 PM**. The last shuttle to the beach leaves at **6:00 PM** and the last return shuttle leaves the beach at **10:00 PM**. The free Pompano Beach Circuit electric shuttles are also running — request one in the Ride Circuit app or wave down a driver. **2. If you drive, bring cash and arrive before 6 PM.** The Pier Parking Garage is **$20, cash only**. Other lots and metered street parking run the holiday rate of **$4 per hour**. And know the closures before you're stuck in them: Riverside Drive (NE 14th Street to 2nd Street) closes 2:00–10:00 PM, North Pompano Beach Blvd and eastbound Atlantic Blvd at Harbor Drive can close as early as 6:00 PM, and the 14th Street Causeway and E. Atlantic Blvd bridges sit in the locked-down position from 6:00–9:30 PM. **3. Rideshare has one correct address.** Uber and Lyft pick up and drop off at the **Beach Branch Library, 3250 NE 2nd Street** — which is also the shuttle's beach stop. Put that in the app, not the pier. **4. Arrive by water if you want the full flex.** Water Taxi runs round-trip service to the show (Stop P7) from Bokampers (P2) and Blue Moon Fish Co. (P3) — **$30 for adults, $15 for children 11 and under**, with final return boats at 9:30 PM. Arrive 15–30 minutes before your selected departure. **5. Can't make the beach? It streams.** The city broadcasts the show live on its YouTube page, its live stream page, and Comcast Channel 78 (Digital 1092). Good backup — but 500 drones over the Atlantic is a be-there thing if you can swing it. ## The details - **What:** Pompano Beach Drone Show Extravaganza 2026 — 500 drones by Firefly Drone Shows - **When:** Saturday, November 7, 2026, 5:30–9:00 PM (drone show at 7:00 PM sharp) - **Where:** Beach south of Fisher Family Pier, 222 N Pompano Beach Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33062 - **Price:** Free - **Official event page:** https://www.pompanobeachfl.gov/events/drone-show-extravaganza South Florida does a lot of Saturday nights well.
